Training Specialist, Commercial Learning

The Training Specialist will be directly responsible for coordinating all Genomic Health Commercial Learning programs and reports to the Sr. Program Manager, Commercial Learning. The ideal candidate will provide timely, accurate and effective coordination for training programs. Position will require exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, an ability to work independently, and a willingness to learn and advance in a fast-paced atmosphere.


· Manage and coordinate Commercial Learning Training Program calendar and schedule to include new hire sales training, home office training, continued education programs, Field Trainer meetings and other ad hoc programs
· Manage logistics for live training sessions to include:
· Site selection and contracting coordination
· Manage catering or banquet event orders
· Manage communications and logistics for program participants
· Management of training materials for live programs to include procurement, printing and distribution
· On-site support at meetings, participation in planning teams, post-meeting de-brief
· Ongoing administration and maintenance of the LMS system content and deployment
· Manage vendor contracting coordination, purchase orders, and invoicing processes
· Budget development and management for individual training programs
· Organize and schedule meetings as required for successful project completion


· Bachelor's degree in relevant field of study
· Minimum of 3+ years of experience in Event Management, Training or Sales/Marketing in the healthcare, biotechnology, or pharmaceutical industry
· Strong customer service, communication and analytical skills are required


· A confident self-starter, who can work independently, but also be a team player.
· Working knowledge of relevant software systems (e.g., MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
· Strong project management skills to aid in the organization, planning, implementation and execution of learning initiatives
· Knowledge of learning management systems is a plus
· Must have strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills
· Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously but remain organized
· Maturity and good judgment to understand when to exercise initiative and handle queries directly, and when to escalate queries to higher authority
· Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors
· While being organized and logical, must balance this with a high degree of flexibility to change direction when needed
· Ability to prioritize activities and workload, taking a systematic approach to addressing issues
· Work cross-functionally to ensure needs are met
