Position summary

Genomic Health is the world's leading provider of genomic-based diagnostic tests that address both the overtreatment and optimal treatment of early-stage cancer, one of the greatest issues in healthcare today. We're in search of an extraordinary Sr. Scrum Master to join our dynamic team. Sr. Scrum Master at Genomic Health are responsible for planning, coordinating, organizing, and helping project teams to achieve a high level of performance and quality in delivering projects that provide exceptional business value. The Sr. Scrum Master may be responsible for managing high visibility projects using Agile methods that cross multiple programs and functions. The Sr. Scrum Master will coordinate and manage complex enterprise-level projects which may consist of multiple Agile teams and/or requiring integration with other activities outside the scope of the Agile teams as well as tactical execution to plan.

· Facilitates and organizes daily stand-up meetings, iteration sizing and planning, retrospectives, and demonstrations.
· Supports project teams in monitoring the execution, progress, and risks.
· Identify and facilitate tradeoff decisions to remove barriers to project success.
· Execute effective communication mechanisms and messages to keep team members and stakeholders engaged and informed.
· Help build high functioning teams by ensuring each team member is fully engaged and held accountable.
· Coordinates and schedules the execution of deliverables.
· Collaborates with Product Owners, and Engineering leads to plan releases and ensures backlog maintenance.
· Ensures the delivery teams are practicing agile methodology and software engineering best practices.
· A track, manage and communicate progress against project goals.
· Help manage the cross-functional team through the creation and execution of Software Project Plans
· Continuously analyze and identify project risk.
· Participate in improving project management best practices, methods and tools.
· Identify all the internal and external resources required to complete the project successfully.
· Coordinate with release planning & deployment activities.
· Manage project scope and changes.


· MS/MBA or BS/BA degree in Life Sciences, Computer Science or related discipline.
· A proven track record of successfully implementing software development projects using Agile methodologies including 8+ years of experience as a Project Manager & Scrum Master which may consist of managing high complexity projects in a medical device, life science or healthcare industry, or relevant experience.
· Solid understanding & experience with SDLC models as well as expert knowledge of both Agile and traditional project management principles and practices and the ability to blend them together in the right proportions to fit a project and business environment.
· Interpersonal and facilitation skills - proven ability to effectively build relationships and achieve alignment across a wide range of functions and stakeholders.
· Communication skills - Must be able to effectively communicate and influence at all levels of the organization including C level executives, technical and non-technical stakeholders, team members and functional managers.
· Business Knowledge - Sound grasp of the key business drivers and considerations in the biotech, pharmaceutical, medical device and /or life science industries.
· Ability to identify key issues and risks, motivate and empower others to address them in a way which builds morale, generates ownership and commitment within the team.
· Experience working with vendors.
· Project Management Institute PMP® certification, SCRUM Master certification.
· Successfully leading projects and programs to on-time, on-schedule.

Travel, physical demands, and work environment
· Travel Requirements: <10%.
· Standing or sitting for long periods of time may be necessary.
· Use of computer, and or telephone for long periods of time may be necessary.
